I'm also a little worried that the weird, mystical stuff will overwhelm the show and leave too little room for actual character development, but this is largely a problem that stems from the source material, and I think so far they've done an admirable job at least trying to infuse these larger-than-life characters with personalities. HBO does this in Game of Thrones as well, and it's silly there, too. ![]() ![]() Starz is trying too hard to be shocking here, but the show doesn't need to be shocking. Last week's extended montage of Bilquis devouring lovers down there was also too much. ![]() ![]() The sex scene was simply too over-the-top. I'm going to repeat my quibble with last week's episode, however.
